Bio

I’m a landscape and fine art fashion photographer based in the Missouri Ozark Mountains. My work is inspired by America’s vast open spaces and the unique people I meet around the world. I draw influence from Australian photographer Russel James, whose artistry shaped my approach to photography.

Before I picked up a camera at age 40, I worked as a dog trainer, police officer, and business owner. A life-changing spiritual experience at an ancient Hawaiian temple in 2013 awakened my passion for capturing beauty through photography, and I’ve been dedicated to that vision ever since.

My journey has led me to extraordinary moments, from photographing a rare albino wallaby in Australia to creating the piece Child Angel Claire© in memory of a young girl whose strength touched me deeply. My collections, Act One© and Act Two©, have been exhibited across the U.S., often raising funds for charitable causes.

I continue to travel, seeking the sacred and the beautiful in both landscapes and people. You can see my work on Instagram at Derin_Richardson_Photographer or reach me at derinrichardson@gmail.com
